Gary Lee LaFountain, 76

Gary Lee LaFountain, 76, passed away on December 30, 2023 at his home, Liberty ARC in Amsterdam, N.Y., with his loving family and staff by his side.

Gary was born December 3, 1947 in Tupper Lake, the son of Frederick and Louise (Lois) Lamica LaFountain. For many years, Gary also lived at the Adirondack ARC in Tupper Lake and worked at NorthStar Industries in Saranac Lake, NY until his retirement.

Gary had a nice smile and was always friendly; he loved his family, always spending time with them. He enjoyed collecting wristwatches and clocks, music, bingo and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tupper Lake.

Gary was predeceased by his parents and brother, Terry Lynn LaFountain. He is survived by his four sisters, Karolyn (Roy) Benware of Piercefield, NY Rhonda (John) Przybycien of Amsterdam, NY, Debra (Mark) Cummins of Walton Hill, OH and Karla (Terry) Williams of Easley, SC. Gary is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Frary Funeral Home; there will be a funeral mass for Gary on May 18, 2024 at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake at 11AM followed by a graveside service at Holy Name Cemetery in Tupper Lake.

A celebration of Life for Gary will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the VFW in Tupper Lake, family and friends are invited to come and remember Gary. Any donations can be sent to: Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Rd, (Montgomery) Amsterdam, NY 12010.
